On September 15, 2025, we took part in La Pétanque des Toqués, a culinary event held in Antibes and organized by a group of renowned chefs from the South of France.
The day brought together gastronomy, local products, and La Pétanque, a traditional French outdoor game deeply rooted in Southern French culture. During the event, we introduced the lionfish to the public by preparing fresh lionfish nuggets on the spot. Free tastings were offered to raise awareness about this invasive species and its impact on the Mediterranean ecosystem.
The response was extremely positive. Visitors enjoyed the taste, many came back for more, and meaningful conversations naturally followed. Even the Mayor of Antibes stopped by to try the nuggets and learn more about the lionfish invasion.
What started as a simple initiative became a powerful moment of exchange, proving that awareness can begin with something as simple as sharing a meal!
